Review and swatches: Geek Chic Cosmetics eyeshadows!

For my birthday (several months ago now, haha) a friend gave me a ThinkGeek voucher. Sadly for us Australians, a ThinkGeek purchase is a special occasion only deal, or a group purchase, because the only shipping options they do are expedited international. It's stupidly fast and also stupidly expensive. On a whim at the end of May, I visited their website and wishfully filled my cart with Geek Chic eyeshadows - they had a small range, but they had two of the colours I REALLY wanted. Imagine my surprise and delight when I checked the shipping options and saw they'd added economy for international shipping! Instead of paying $40+ to get my order within the week, I could pay $9 and wait a bit longer! So I got 3 Geek Chic eyeshadows and a little heart hand warmer for stupidly cheap, since my gift certificate covered nearly everything.

Swatches: Smitten Polish Bluebird II

I don't remember where I first saw this polish. It may have been in a blog or it may have been on Etsy. I DO remember that it was lust at first sight. I didn't look at it and think, "Oh, pretty!" or even "How unusual!" My eyes widened and my brain screeched "WANT!" Capitalism at its finest :P

I don't normally like brown polishes, but the contrast between the dark chocolatey base and the green and blue hex glitter had me wiping drool off my chin.

NotD: Smoke and flakies

Revlon Perplex. I've no idea how long I've had this polish for - months, definitely - and not touched it. I know it's a gorgeous polish but I never bothered swatching it because it's one of those polishes nearly everybody owns or knows about. Even if you don't own Perplex itself, you probably own a dupe from another brand.

Review: Shiro Cosmetics Holiday gloss

The last of my Shiro haul. I haven't been using a lot of eyeshadow lately, so I decided to try one of the Holiday glosses released over Christmas. I got eyeshadow samples as well.

Review: Rokk96 Bronzed Goddess

I wanted to get something brown/bronzey, and I was in Price Attack seeing if they had anything along those lines. I got sidetracked by some of the glitters and vampy winter shades they had, but I finally settled on Bronzed Goddess.

Boy am I glad I got this! It's a rich, glowing chocolatey bronze. It's metallic enough that it's on the frosty side, so you can get a bit of brushstroke-y-ness if you're not careful. It's insanely pigmented though - this is a one coat swatch.

So gorgeous! I can see myself wearing this a lot through winter.

From polish storage: Eurotrip (NotD)

This is one of my maaaaaaaany Mode nail polishes. I have a lot of them, mostly because they're cheap but also because some of them are amazingly good. I'm not sure I've ever actually worn this before, but here it is!

This colour has amazing gold/copper shimmer in sunlight. I don't normally go for darker polish colours but I really like this one. I did two thick-ish coats to maximise the chocolaty base colour and make sure the shimmer showed up.

Pic with flash, makes the base look a lot more reddish than it actually is.

I added some polka dots with China Glaze Passion. I actually would have loved to do my whole mani with the dots but for some reason my left hand was SO shaky last night, after doing the accent nail on my right hand I kinda went, "Yeeeah no," so accent it shall stay. Or maybe I'll just do one extra nail a day for however long the mani lasts :P
