NotD: Ablaze Skittles

I had a reeeeeally bad split in the side wall of my thumbnail. I patched it for about 3 weeks until it grew out, then decided on a whim to change my nails to an almond shape. I love the way it looks but the feel of it is taking some getting used to!

Anyway, I decided to do another skittle manicure, this time with Ablaze from Alanna Renee. Lots if pictures under the jump!

Swatch: Illamasqua Bacterium

I cannot TELL you how excited I am about Illamasqua lowering their prices in Australia. But let me put it in perspective for you: there's no counter in Perth, so I'd have to order from Myer interstate. To order from Illamasqua in the U.K. AND pay for shipping would have still been cheaper than ordering from Myer in Australia. And that's without shipping included in the Aussie price!

NoTD: Reverse Ladybug

I decided to pull out my dotting tools. I purposely didn't try for an even/neat arrangement and I think that worked out a LOT better than trying to emulate my work with my uncoordinated left hand.

This is my first Illamasqua polish and I totally understand the hype now.

Probably the most expensive polish I own, the bottle was actually a little bit smaller than I was expecting, but the polish is stunning.

A one-coat, deep red creme.

Seriously, one coat. It was a fairly thick polish but applied quite smoothly.

My right hand doesn't look as good because my left hand isn't as coordinated, I had to do a bit of clean-up, and the polish is so pigmented it didn't want to come off my cuticles! Gorgeous, wonderful polish though, I already have my eye on Caress (baby blue), Load (off-white), Bacterium (taupe with silver sheen) and Smash (grass green).

I am itching to Konad this... we'll see if I can manage a design without totally messing it up, haha.
